Obituary of Weldon H. Grubb,
100 Years old
U.S. Army Veteran
Mr. Weldon H. Grubb of Millsboro, DE passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Delaware Hospice Center. He was 100 years old.
Weldon was born in Carswell, W. Virginia on February 20, 1920 to the late Henry Lester and Bessie E. Blevins Grubb. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Virgie Grubb in 2008 as well as eight siblings.
Mr. Grubb is survived by his daughter Brenda K. Millman, of Millsboro, his grandson Matthew D. Millman and wife Amanda, two great grandchildren; Tori and Ty Millman of Georgetown, as well as a sister Norma Trivitt of Bristol Tennessee. He also had a close friend Gordon Severe and a few other close nieces and their families.
He retired from the Chrysler Corporation and moved from New Castle County to the Millsboro, area in 1978. Weldon was a United States World War II Army Veteran. He attended Oak Orchard Community Church. Weldon loved spending time outdoors and loved doing yardwork and gardening. His lawn was perfect and looked like a lush carpet. Weldon was a very likable man. He was devoted to his family, loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, a hardworking man who was determined but could also be stubborn at times.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM for viewing and visitation. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19966.
