Wenona Lee Trumbo Weaber
Wenona Weaber age 92 went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2017. She was born September 26, 1924 in Brandywine, WV to Homer and Minnie Trumbo. They moved to Illinois, Ohio and then to Chester County, PA where she spent her school years. She graduated February 1944 from Beacon College in Wilmington, DE and worked there as the Registrar for 6 months. She spent the next 7 years working for the Federal Government's Savings Bond Department in Wilmington, DE. In mid-July 1946, she began dating the love of her life, Bert Weaber, a merchant marine sailor, and they married on August 10, 1946 at his Mother's home in Philadelphia. They settled in Wilmington, DE raising 4 sons. She worked as an administrator for the Bert Weaber Co until the sale of the company and sometime after moving to lower Delaware she went to work for Justin Fiberglass Tanks in Georgetown, DE. She was active in Bethel Baptist Church of Wilmington and Calvary Baptist Church of Georgetown. She also served as a volunteer with DE Hospice for over 10 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bert in 2003, after nearly 57 years of marriage, and her great grandson, Brandon, in 2008, her brothers Ike and Roger, and her sister, Elizabeth Coates. Since losing the love of her life she actively traveled visiting the joys of her life, her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; as well as friends and various destinations. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Wenona is survived by her sons, Mark (Autumn) Weaber of Elkton, MD; Pastor Gary (Christine) Weaber of Shreveport, LA; Lee (Christine) Weaber of Greenwood, DE; and Todd (Kelley) Weaber of Sacramento, CA; 14 grandchildren (11 spouses); and 22 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Melba Trumbo of New Castle, DE and Wanda Semon of Sierra Vista, AZ, sister-in-law Roberta Weaber and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Visitation with the family will be held at 10 A.M. and the Celebration of her life at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 25 at Calvary Baptist Church, 22860 DuPont Blvd, Georgetown, DE 19947. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
