Obituary for William Dean Coffelt
William “Dean” Coffelt, 65, of Salisbury, MD, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving husband and treasured dogs on October 8, 2025. He was born in Seaford, DE, on December 20, 1959, the son of the late Millard Manfred and Dorothy L. (Parker) Coffelt.
Dean, also known as “Billy-Dean”, “Uncle Billy” and “Deano” was a proud graduate of Sussex Central High School, Class of 1977. He went on to build a successful career as a Territory Manager in Sales and Marketing, where his dedication and charisma left a lasting impression on all who worked with him.
He married the love of his life, John “Randy” Russell, and together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion. He also had a special place in his heart for dogs especially his own dogs. He was passionate about photography, caring for his aquarium, and tending to his beloved roses. Dean had a deep appreciation for family and the beauty in life. He was known for his positive outlook, supportive nature, genuine smile, love of laughter and compassionate nature.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell Coffelt and Danny Coffelt. He is survived by his devoted husband, Randy Russell; sisters-in-law, Jeni Coffelt and Bell Coffelt; nieces and nephews, Amy Workman (Scott), Doug Coffelt (Jenn), and Troy Coffelt (Rachel); along with several great-nieces and great-nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and kindness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Millsboro Fire Hall in Millsboro, DE, where family and friends may gather to honor Dean’s memory and the love he shared with all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his generous spirit, his creativity, and the joy he brought into the lives of others.
