WILLIAM H DAVIS's Obituary
Mr. William H. Davis, age 91 of Millsboro, DE passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Mr. Davis was born in Millsboro, DE on August 17, 1923 to the late Robert H. and Lillie Mae Johnson Davis. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Doris and a daughter, Barbara Jackson. He worked as a teacher at William C. Jason High School and Georgetown High School and later as a professor at Delaware Tech. He was a member of Indian Mission United Methodist Church, Nanticoke Indian Association, and was a U.S. Army Veteran decorated for five campaigns during WW II. He had a long career as an educator, professor, grain farmer, and held a doctorate degree. He was an avid fox hunter. He is survived by a daughter, Audrey Brown of Nashville, TN, two sisters, Doris Davis Price and her husband Cyril H., and Sylvia Davis Pinkett both of Millsboro, DE along with five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and extended family members and friends. A viewing and visitation will be held from 3:00 PM -8:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966. The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Indian Mission United Methodist Church, 22701 Indian Mission Road, Harbeson, DE 19951, where friends may call after 12 Noon. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Pastor Karen Mumford will officiate.
