William Hudson's Obituary
Mr. William C. "Bill Calvin" Hudson of Gumboro, DE passed away peacefully in the care and comfort of his family and the staff from the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE on Friday, April 28, 2017. He was 82 years old.
Mr. Hudson was born in Bishop, MD to the late Calvin P. and Naoma K. Day Hudson. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister, Naoma Cordrey.
Bill was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Delaware National Guard and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a poultry farmer and an all-around good person. He was friendly, never met a stranger and would always be willing to help someone out. He loved the outdoors and had a hard time being idle. Bill loved his flowers beds, gardening, landscaping and playing with his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor L. Scott Hudson of Gumboro, DE; three children; Ronald Hudson and his wife Debbie of Gumboro, DE; Douglas Hudson and his fiancé Lisa Mears of Laurel, DE; and Paula Candy and her husband James Jr. of Parsonsburg, MD; three sisters, Mattie Lynch, Helen Mumford and her husband Paul and Ancy Bowden. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jimmy Candy and Sophia, Matt Candy and his wife Denise, Steven Candy, Jeremy Candy and Shelby, Justin Hudson and Kari Hudson as well as two great grandchildren, Mollie and Colton Candy.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
