William E. Hudson's Obituary
William E. Hudson was born March 3, 1953. He was born to the late William E. Rickards Jr. and Hettie M Rickards (Hudson). William attended school at Sussex Central High school. William joined the Army at the tender age of 18. He served his country for several years. He served in Germany as artillery soldier. William worked a many of jobs. He worked as a poultry handler for several different companies and people. He was a formal member of the Bible Church of Christ and final member at the New Beginning’s Church under the leadership of Bishop Roland Mifflin.
William had a love for fast cars. One of his favorite was a 1968 Ford that he would drag race all the time. He was a well-loved and like man by many. He had many female and male friends. He loved to watch his Baltimore Raven’s and the Minnesota Viking teams play football on T.V.
William was the proud father of all his children. William Drummond (April), Christopher Drummond (Deborah), Alvin Hudson (Felicia), Shakilla Hudson, Opra Hudson, Arkeem Adkins and Estonya Adkins, Jermaine Rogers, and Christopher Rogers. He is survived by brothers: George (Sumiko) Dale Jr., Bruce (Deborah) Hudson, Darrell Ricketts, Michael (Cliffinette) Ricketts, Sisters: Edna Gibbs, Sandra Holland, Sandra (William) Prileau, Lorna (Corneilus)Mitchell, Tanya (Gregory) Mann Sr. Katina Rogers, Danyale Mc Cray, Charmaine Mc Cray, and Darrel Kellum. He has loving stepchildren Tyrome Phillips, Stephon Phillips, Dupree Phillips, Anmirah Smith, Brendon Phillips, and Kam’ron Smith. He also was a grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his children and spoiled his grands and great grand to all new levels. He played the role of dad and step-dad to many children in his life time. A host of nieces, nephews, cousin’s, uncles, and aunts a host of everyone else.
He loved to worship and praise the Lord. Whenever, he heard the song “Totally” he would get his dance on. One of his favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 33:2 Thus saidth the Lord the maker there of, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name; Call unto me and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
William had a long-term friend and care giver named Emma Rogers and Cousin Betty, He had many other care givers from time to time throughout his journey of health issues. William called everyone sister, brother, cousin, daughter, and or son. He was a big one for family no matter who they were or are.
He was proceeded in death by his parents William and Hettie Rickards Jr., by grandparents Harry and Mary Hudson Sr., William and Edna Ricketts Sr., Brothers: Ricky, David, Ernest Hudson Sr. Ervin Rickards, and Mchael Rogers, Sisters: Caroline Mc Coy and Cammie Johnson also his daughter Shakila Hudson.
