Winford Eugene Bostic, Sr.'s Obituary
Winford “Pop” Eugene Bostic Sr., 69, of Sussex County, Delaware, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. Born on October 16, 1955, he was the son of the late L.K. Bostic and Juanitta Griffith Bostic.
A proud and hardworking man, Pop spent over 20 years with Mountaire as a CDL driver and maintenance worker, eventually retiring after a lifetime of labor across Sussex County. Known for his unwavering dependability, he was the one you called when something needed fixing, a tool was missing, or a listening ear was needed.
Pop was a true outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, and collecting knives and guns. He was also an exceptional cook who loved nothing more than entertaining friends and family. Whether hosting a backyard cookout or just sharing a laugh over a home-cooked meal, Pop made everyone feel welcome.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Bostic, whom he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his two sons, Winford Bostic Jr. of Dagsboro, DE, and Robert Wayne Bostic Sr. of Millsboro, DE; three grandchildren, Robert W. Bostic Jr., Wynnie Bostic, and Rilyn Bostic; and two great-grandchildren, Luca W. Bostic and River G. Bostic; a sister Judy Tingle, and brother Randal Bostic. He also leaves behind his loyal Jack Russell terrier, Nicole.
Pop’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched—through his stories, his skills, his laughter, and the strong family he leaves behind. He will be remembered as a man who could fix anything and who gave without expecting anything in return.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, a public viewing will begin at 5:00 PM.
