Zenas Walter Gardner's Obituary
Zenas Walter Gardner, age 86, of Salisbury, MD, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. He was born on April 9, 1939, in Lewistown, PA, the son of the late Eslie W. and Isabella (Eby) Gardner.
Zenas proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he went on to have a dedicated career as a supervisor with E.I. DuPont. He was known for his strong work ethic and leadership throughout his years of service.
In his free time, Zenas enjoyed staying active, particularly through playing tennis and golf. He cherished the time spent outdoors and the friendships he built along the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Larry and Roger Gardner.
He is survived by his son, John W. Gardner and his fiancé Couoyna Goodman; grandson John W. Gardner, Jr. and one sister June Gardner. Zenas also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Zenas’ memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
