Edouard "Edward" James Beauparlant's Obituary
Edouard “Edward” James Beauparlant, 86, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Born on October 5, 1939, in Cohoes, New York, he was the son of the late Edward Joseph and Irene Mae (Blanchard) Beauparlant. We are thankful that his battle with various health issues is over, and he is now rejoicing with Jesus in Heaven.
Ed graduated from Cohoes High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After returning home from his service, he began a dedicated career in law enforcement, serving his community as a police officer. In 2000, Edward made Delaware his home, settling in Millsboro. In his “retirement” he served as Security in several local resorts and campgrounds.
Ed had a deep love for riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and could often be found enjoying Bike Rallies with his son. He also had a passion for yard sales and thrifting, always on the lookout for a unique treasure to gift to family or friends. He had a green thumb and enjoyed nursing other people’s plants back to life. Ed was known for his rice pilaf. He was an avid enthusiast of firearms and valued the camaraderie that came with sharing his interests. He never let his health issues slow him down or cause him to miss out on anything. Above all, Edward was known as a great guy — someone who was loyal, genuine, and deeply loved by those who knew him.
Ed was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police Sussex Lodge #2 where he served as past President and Conductor. He was also a devoted Freemason.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his son, David Edward “Eddie” Beauparlant.
He is survived by his children, Scott Beauparlant (Deb Harden) and Angela Winchell (Craig); his cherished grandchildren, Jade Beauparlant, Sage Crosby (Chris), Holleigh Donze (Thomas), Kayla Winchell (Noah), Cheyenne Winchell (Cordell), Sierra Winchell (Pat), and Craigie Winchell; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Faith, Harper, Grayson, and Colton. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Huneau and Jeanne Neiles; many nieces and nephews; his loving girlfriend, Peggy MacLauchlan; and his lifelong childhood friend, Gil Shephard.
A chapel service with military honors will be held on March 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Delaware 19966.
Ed will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. His legacy of service, strength, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
