Thank you!

SERGEANT ED SHEGOGUE WAS MY PLATOON SERGEANT IN C-TROOP, 1ST SQUADRON, 6TH ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT AT FT MEADE, MARYLAND IN 1967/68. OUR PLATOON HAD M551 SHERIDAN TANKS, AND M113 ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIERS. HE WAS A GREAT SOLDIER AND LEADER. HE WAS TOUGH BUT FAIR! HE HAD HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF US, AND TOOK GREAT CARE OF OUR PLATOON. HE HAD MUCH EXPERIENCE AS A COMBAT VETERAN IN VIETNAM WITH THE 11TH ARMORED CAV. HE TRAINED AND LED US IN RIOT CONTROL DUTY AT THE PENTAGON DURING THE VIETNAM WAR PROTESTS IN OCT '67, AND THE RACE RIOTS IN WASH DC IN '68. I ADMIRED HIM- GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR, VERY PATRIOTIC, WONDERFUL MAN! PROUD TO HAVE SERVED UNDER HIM, AND SHARE MY CONDOLENCES WITH HIS FAMILY.

Our prayers and condolences go out for you. We praise God for Ed's life, serving God and our country. I only heard about Ed's passing today. May the Lord comfort you during this time...
