Maurice "Joe" Joseph Hildebrand's Obituary
Maurice Joseph Hildebrand "Joe" of Lewes Delaware passed away on Saturday May 2, 2020. He was 74 years old.
Joe was born in Salem NJ to the late Norris "Mac" and Hilda T. Hildebrand on March 19, 1946. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother William and a sister Kathleen. Adding to his heartache his grandson Joseph Stiteler and beloved daughter Beth Hildebrand Jordan also preceded him in death.
Joe had a good life. He spent 10 years volunteering for the Pitman NJ Ambulance Association where he served as Captain. He worked in construction and had his own business, working in South Jersey and Philadelphia before he retired to Delaware. Once in Delaware he continued to take on projects for others as he had a hard time saying no and never saw a stranger. One of the high points in his life was riding his Harley Davidson across country visiting Sturgis and the Badlands.
Above all else Joe had a deep love for his family. It was important to him to stay connected. There is evidence that Joe was a loving, giving and caring person - that evidence is the deep sorrow and pain in our hearts that his family feels from his passing.
Joe is survived by his wife of 33 years Patricia Hildebrand. His four daughters Dawn Oplinger (Scott) of Sewell NJ, Colleen Stiteler (BJ) of Newfield NJ, Amanda Katsimbris (Michael) of Milford DE and Cynthia Hildebrand-Cashdollar (Sam) of Lewes DE. He also leaves behind two sisters, Denise Ladd (Paul) of Woodbury NJ, and Debbie Harper (Steven) of Malaga NJ, as well as, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends.
Services and a Celebration of Life will be held at Joe's residence Saturday June 6th at 1 pm at 18600 Ravens Way Lewes Delaware where all are welcomed to attend. In keeping with safety guidelines mask will be available, event will be held outside, and social distancing will be adhered to. Burial will be private.
