I have so many special memories of my grandpop—flying kites, riding the pony, and swimming at their house as a kid. I’m so grateful for those moments, and for the time I got to spend with him again as an adult, sharing visits with my own children.
Rest in peace, Grandpop. You will always be remembered.
What I’ll hold closest are the simple moments, planting trees side by side while Grandpop patiently showed me how, and hearing him belt out “Maria” from West Side Story just to brighten my day. I’m also glad I had the chance to introduce him to my kids, even briefly. I’ll never forget the first time he met Grace and how he lit up when she smiled at him, or the joy he got from seeing Asher’s love of buses.
