Stephany Patricia Wescott's Obituary
Stephany Patricia Wescott, age 75, was born on February 12, 1950, in Millsboro, Delaware. On June 24, 2025, she entered into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Stephany graduated from Millsboro High School in 1968 and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 1991, she furthered her education by earning her Registered Nurse certification from Delaware Technical and Community College. She was united in marriage to John F. Wescott, with whom she shared 53 years of loving partnership. Together, they were blessed with three children.
Stephany dedicated 43 years of faithful service as a nurse at Milford Memorial Hospital. Her devotion to nursing extended beyond the hospital as she served in ministry, holding the position of President of the District Nursing Department for the Southeast District of the Delaware Church of God in Christ. Her life exemplified the heart of a nurse—compassionate, nurturing, and filled with love for everyone she encountered.
In addition to her service in the nursing ministry, Stephany was the President of the Missionary Department at her home church, New Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ. She spoke the Word of God with clarity and conviction, and she lived it each day through her actions. Always willing to serve wherever needed, she also taught Youth Sunday School for five years, touching the lives of many young hearts.
Stephany's legacy of love and faith continues through her devoted family: her beloved husband, John F. Wescott of Delmar, DE; her three children, Johnetta Hinton of Milton, DE, Teresa (Anthony) Cheung of Vancouver, BC, and Bryan Wescott of Baltimore, MD; and her cherished grandchildren, Mi’Kayla Breasure, Luca Cheung, and Ziv Cheung. She is also survived by her four sisters: Sarah (Bobby) Bull of Dagsboro, DE, Deborah Snead of Millsboro, DE, Lorraine Snow-Barnette of Maryland, and Valerie Snow of Texas; and by her two godchildren, Bobby Bull, Jr. and Lesley Collins, both of Delaware. She leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched deeply.
A funeral service celebrating Stephany's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at New Holy Trinity Church, 29507 1st Street, Millsboro, DE 19966. Friends may gather for viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
